Hi there, this is Nadie. I am a PhD candidate in theoretical physics under the supervision of Prof. Brian Swingle at Brandeis University. My research interest random walks in the vicinity of quantum information science, featuring chaos, error correction, quantum gravity, and their experimental implications.

I asked Cursor to help me build a crawler for analyzing daily quantum computation and quantum information papers from Scirate. I call it Do I Wanna Know? Maybe you can read it with your coffee in the morning with Arctic Monkeys.

I am working on founding a quantum computing and AI nonprofit to help get frontier tech development accessible to public welfare organizations and underprivileged students. I am working on organizing an AI hackathon right now. Let me know if you want to join the fray.

You can find me at nadie [at] brandeis [dot] edu. Questions (and suggestions!) regarding physics, the aviation scenes in Boston, and where to camp/grill around Boston are most welcome.

Fun stuff

Check out a (completely biased) food list that I keep for myself, mostly for Boston and Santa Barbara, sometimes in Chinese and sometimes in English.

While I‘m not at work, I’m also a pilot, currently working towards my instrument rating and advanced ground instructor certificate.

I am also a drummer/guitarist in two bands. Our practice room is in Allston, MA. Come jam with us. We are hoping to do local open mics soon. We play a range of songs, including metal, post-punk, rock, J-rock, and jazz.

I also have a bartender certificate. I got it when I was very stressed out about my research back in my undergrad days.

Tenn in my last name is my mom's last name in my hometown dialect (Fujian Province, China 福建省). Of course, you need to be careful about which region in Fujian you are talking about. A lot of us are not mutually intelligible. If this counts as a language, I can speak a total of five languages.

Recent Highlights

Spring 2025
My paper on scrambling with imperfections is live on arxiv: 2505.00070, see a short description in the Research page and further details in this blog post for general physics audience.
